Two way audio communication allows you to either talk with or hear who is on the other end. Solar power charging is also a nice alternative to having it plugged in all day. Additionally, included PCMCIA slots allows for storing the recordings onto a memory card or upgrading the modem if desired, but really the whole point of this device is to use your mobile phone as a monitoring system rather that a surveillance recording system.
