Grace's Aqua and Yellow Abode

My Room

Name: Grace
Location: Dallas, TX

This space was actually inspired by a gorgeous nursery featured here on Apartment Therapy. I was drawn to the light and happy feel of the combination of aqua and yellow in that room and wanted to try and recreate that feeling for our Grace.

I shied away from a theme in favor of finding colors and textures that worked well together. After deciding on Valspar's Lazy Days (in flat) for the walls, I scoured Etsy and my favorite retailers for inspiring pieces and also ended up making a few things myself. The painted canvases, in particular, were a labor of love.

The bookcases are actually picture ledges from IKEA, and I found most of the books for a steal at a used bookstore. The gallery wall is comprised mostly of old frames from Goodwill that I sanded, painted, and filled with maternity pictures.

Overall, I think we ended up with a space that is an undeniably happy one. I hope Grace grows to love it as much as her dad and I do!

Thanks, Ryan! Readers, you can see more of Ryan on her blog, Loved and Lovely.
