When taking a look at Grant Gibson's use of furniture and accessories, a great takeaway from this Manhattan kitchen, especially for renters with newer, cookie-cutter style apartments, is the use of casual pieces (such as the vintage chairs and 1970’s French marble table) to offset the modern cabinets and fixtures. This juxtaposition, along with the addition of a simple, industrial chandelier from Workstead and Moroccan rug from The Rug Company, all help in creating a relaxed, urbane kitchen perfect for scrolling through your RSS over a morning cup of Joe.

Love the backsplash and the vintage furniture - This is definitely a great inspiration!
where can you get that runner. looove
I dunno--my definition of " casual" includes some degree of funkiness + low cost. This aspirational & stunningly elegant kitchen screams $$$. I envision the owners kicking off their Choos & discussing signing up little Tangerine for Portuguese lessons....
Beautiful....I love the casual/ rustic chairs around a clean marble table.
i love Grant Gibson! He is fabuloso like my fabric softener!

Amazingly enough, people with money can be casual too...
@bepsf--Agreed. But do you think this particular kitchen is a casual place?
Grant's the man. He can do no wrong.
