- Inspiration for my palette:
- I found some amazing 50's fabric from Brimfield market in Massachusetts which was an old lounge chair cover which I turned into cushion covers with a mushroom print and shades of green. That and my teal vintage swivel chair became my color focus. I used the teal and blues in my paintings.
- Colors used in my room
- Teal, aqua, grey, green, yellow
- Tips for using color successfully
- Choosing shades that sit well together and pairing them with neutrals. I also like to use a few carefully chosen pops too.

Beautiful lamp, end tables and magazine rack.
I also enjoyed the way the art is displayed.

Oh those marvelous women! And the lamp kicks a$$ too
Those women were painted by Grant!
Love this!
Is the coffee table kinda far out from the couch?
Wow -- THIS is what "having a palette" is all about. Every single visible thing looks like it belongs in the room; nothing sticks out as being out of place. And yet there is no sense at all that any cherished personal item was banished just because it wouldn't match, or that any iffy non-meaningful item was put in just because it would support the vibe. It looks real, organic, natural, livable -- and yet it has the smoothness and pulled-togetherness of a thoroughly "styled" room. I would love to show this room to some of the other entrants whose technique seems to be "Neutrals everywhere, and then enforce the rule that the cushions, candlesticks, curtain stripe and rug all include 70% the exact same shade of teal plus 30% the exact same shade of chartreuse." Grant's room reminds me of a salad dressing where I can't identify any of the individual herbs or vinegars, but it doesn't matter because I'm so enchanted by the satisfying combination.
Thanks so much Bee for Brian! glad you like our entry
Bee for Brian says it all! Every single thing looks like it belongs there and your art work is just amazing!
