Yesterday we stopped by the Art Institute (free this summer on Thursdays and Fridays from 5-9 pm) to check out their first ever exhibition devoted to graphic design. In a tiny gallery on the lower level, we viewed works by London design firm, Graphic Thought Facility. GFT branded and packaged some heavy-hitters including projects for the Design Museum, Tord Boontje, Ron Arad, and Habitat UK...

If you're visiting the Art Institute, we definitely recommend taking a peek at this show. If you go, take note of the well-designed, inventive display cases...we're thinking of using them as inspiration for a DIY project at home. (We'll see how it goes.)
