Landscape designer Pamela Berstler has taken the idea of an outdoor room literally: She filled a bed frame with grass turf.
We love everything about this playful rooftop deck — from the citrus tree "headboard" to the vine-covered privacy wall. The clean lines and restrained color palette of greys and greens accented with dark wood tones keep it modern and sophisticated. But the concept is so fun and whimsical, we're dying to take nap there!

I'd sleep there.
Lovely place for an afternoon nap!
Love it!
Really unique. Is it soft?
In the right climate, I'd sleep there at night too.
Divine!
I wonder if lying on the grass would make me itchy like it did when I was a kid?
Lying in the grass on a sunny day is one of my favourite activities - so I love this!
I want to do this!
Love it! Perfect setting to espalier those citrus trees!
I saw this done in an art exhibit as an outdoor installation (but the bed was kind of creaky and it didn't have that sweet headboard). Really nice in this location.
chair!
I'd like a grass chair under the shade of a big tree. Then I want a swing on one of the branches, or better yet inside. When I'm ready for a nap I'll stretch out on the big grass bed. Love the headboard, too.
where are the pillows?
I love this! Gorgeous!
I'm going to get rid of my lawn (want stones, moss and plants instead) but I've thought about keeping some turf in large pots as homage to the good old English gardeners ;-)
Such a bed would be more useful.
i think robert heinlein already explored this option of interior decor.... fifty years ago...
I wonder if she is the one who'll be mowing it?
I want to have a picnic on it!
