November is gratitude month with Thanksgiving right around the corner. And while I think these activities should probably be practiced all year, the fall season really lends itself well to these warm indoor family times.
It is starting to get cold up here in Canada, and I have been looking for things to do with the kids that would diffuse the tension of not being able to stay outdoors so much. Besides physical activities, I needed a way to gather the family around one common thing. Gratitude seemed a good way to go.
These few Thanksgiving oriented ideas seemed appropriate and fun, not to mention often pretty.
• A Thanksgiving Family Gratitude Journal
at Inhabitots. I love the way kids are solely responsible for this.
• A Montessori Gratitude Jar
from Living Montessori Now is a reference for us since both our kids are Montessori kids.
• The Garland of gratitude
from Family Fun is a pretty known go-to, easy to do with small or bigger kids.
• Kids Gratitude Journals
, from Let's Lasso The Moon, are so pretty and a very personal thing each kid can treasure.
• Thankful Pumpkin craft
, at Playful Crafts. If your kids aren't sick of doing pumpkin crafts by now, this one is pretty cute.
