You've seen our favorite black, black & white, and white bathrooms... we figured why not split the difference with gray? Here are our picks...![]()
We like that this bathroom (above) really focuses on the visual impact of the tiles, keeping everything else simple. Of course we love the Maneki Neko statue, too.
A soft gray on walls and ceilings somehow adds a dose of modernity to this apothecary-inspired room.

Barely there greige

Hard to go wrong with top to bottom Heath tiles, no?

Another gray tile, wood, and white combination, though we might prefer gray grout here, instead. What's your opinion?

We would have liked to find more bathrooms using gray with an accent color, such as yellow, but it's hard to argue the appeal of white and gray (with hints of black in the floor tile), seen here.

we did a bathroom is dark gray and have silver tiles and yellow towels. i am still in love with it a year later...
I painted my tiny cottage bathroom a medium gray on the bottom half to the chair rail with Benjamin Moore's American White on top of the rail. I love it.
It's a color from Miller Paint here in Portland, Oregon called Shadow Orchid. Just gray enough, with just a teeny tiny hint of the purple. It's sexy without being too dramatic. That's the only way I can describe it. Oh, and both men and women comment on how much they love the color. It's neither masculine "steel" gray, or girly purple. It's absolutely perfect. The white on the top half of the wall keeps one's skin from looking too pallid in the mirror.
Does anyone know where I can get the showerhead in the heath tile example photo?
Where can I get a big lucky cat? I've looked on ebay but they just seem to have small ones.
Miss sparrow, can you post pictures here? I would love to see it. I am in the process of renovating and would love to see new ideas.
@AnnieO
I collect maneki neko and I suggest Mrs. Lin's Kitchen (look under Good Luck Items) for a large maneki neko. I have to warn you it may be a bit expensive. Alternatively, they are readily available in NY Chinatown, SF Japantown, etc. (but not in DC Chinatown, there's a large maneki neko drought in DC, your best bet in the DC area is the Silver Spring H Mart or even thrift stores) Another decent source online that varies is Pearl River Mart (search "lucky cat" since it's a Chinese store). They may have what you are looking for in a traditional shape or they may be out. As you know, Ebay varies. If you tell me what you are looking for more specifically, I could give you some more hints (ie, color, size, pose, etc.). Happy hunting! :)
Nix,
The showerhead in the Heath image is by Dornbracht, the Tara Classic line I believe.
