Name: Grayson
Location: Chapel Hill, NC
We are expecting our first child around St. Paddy's Day and wanted to create a serene modern room that wasn't too childish, that could grow with our little one. The color scheme is mostly gray and white with touches of blue.
The birch tree decals kicked off the design of the room, creating a focal wall. Additionally, we chose a light bluish-gray paint called Thin Ice for the room to complement the white decals. The dresser is an old This End Up dresser that was in my childhood bedroom that we updated by painting it gray and replacing the knobs. My favorite part has to be the baby animal photos purchased at The Animal Print Shop; they are just adorable!
This room has been my most rewarding design project to date and I often find myself hanging out in there. I can't wait for its new occupant to arrive!
Source List:
• Sparrow crib in gray
• Overstock.com Jungle sheepskin ivory rug (3' x 5')
• ikea Knappa pendant lamp
• Ikea Expedit bookcase
• Klaussner Lacey Glider and Ottoman in slate
• Wall color: Olympic Thin Ice
• Forest birch tree decals: Art Wall Project on Etsy
Thanks Tracy!

lovely! Where did you get the curtains from?
Serene is exactly the word to describe this room. I love, love, love it!
Lovely and peaceful room! Where did you get the gray bins (in the expedit) from?
Thank you so much for the nice comments! @Emmycell, I purchased the curtains from west elm and they are called Geo Leaf but unfortunately they are not available on their website anymore. However, there is a similar style they call the Ikat Ogee Linen panel that is still available online.
@Banjo13, the gray felt storage bins are available on westelm.com. If you look closely two of the bins have handles and two do not, the ones without are west elm and the other two I purchased at t.j.maxx for a steal-I had plans to add felt handles to the two without but that hasn't happened yet!
I'm diggin' the light fixture. It really sets the mood for the room!
Love the room and LOVE the name! Beautiful!
beautiful!
Nice room! Go Heels!
I love the lucite side table. Where is that great find from?
Where did you find the bedding sheets? I love the entire look!
Thanks so much for the wonderful comments! @DSTIENE, the lucite table is CB2.com called the peekaboo spark table. I checked online and it looks like they don't sell that particular one online anymore, they instead sell the peekaboo nesting table set.
@SHELLS011, the crib sheet is Gio from Dwell Studio and is available at buybuyBaby, http://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=16648701&
i love your entire nursery but am fixated on the elephant plush! where is that guy from??
p.s. How is the comfort on the Klaussner? I was considering it be/c the price point is so great!
Congratultions on such a gorgeous room for your little guy! Our little boy arrived this week too, I am wondering if you have 'popped' yet! Just wanted to say a big thank you for pointing me in the direction of The Animal Print Shop, I'm about to order some seriously cute prints for my little boy's room!
I love everything! I'm due with a boy in June and am planning on painting all of the furniture grey. Do you know what color you used on that dresser? I love it! Congrats...hope he's here!
Simply gorgeous! Please, please tell me the color of the walls. So nice!
Oh sorry! Just saw the color above. I got excited. : )
@Bombdarby, the elephant plush is from Ikea and the Klaussner rocker is in indeed comfortable. The price is great for this rocker, the style is modern and clean, and the fabric is a micro-fiber so I think it will clean up well. The only thing that might be a concern is the size, check your dimensions. This chair fits me well but I am only 5'5". Overall this chair is definitely on the small size, it probably fits a petite person the best. Thanks for your comments!
@Tess_Donohue, thanks so much for your sweet comments, and yes I have finally popped! Grayson and I are now enjoying his new room together. The Animal Print Shop has some new adorable prints, too bad I have run out of free wall space! Good luck with your room and congratulations on your little boy!
@Hillaryisaacson, the paint I used on the dresser is called Cloudburst and is a My Color inspired by Pantone paint and sold at Lowe's. It was a great paint to use, low VOC and great coverage, just make sure you sand really well before applying. Congratulations on your baby boy due in June and good luck with the painting!
Love this room! I'm obsessed with gray. Getting the same crib! Is the dresser from IKEA? Thanks!
