Pre-parenthood, we were never the type to put things in our pockets. But these days, all sorts of bobbles and bits find a home there. There is never a shortage of pet rocks, un-partnered socks and mittens, tissues and small toys. In order to keep damage to the laundry at a minimum, we empty all of our pockets right before things go into the machine. The heap of miscellany on top of the washer is growing by leaps and bounds and some organizing is in order!
That's why we love the idea of a designated "pocketfinds" jar. Simply designate a container or jar (preferably glass so you can see the contents) as the repository for your families' pocketfinds. We're going to implement this great idea in our laundry area. We also can see this lovely little jar on the landing strip.

I like this idea as well - where can I find one of the lovely little jars?
yeah any info on those jars? i like the clear glass with the colorful hardware.
Great idea, but the money is out of place. In every household I've ever lived in, the rule has been that any money found in pockets while doing the laundry belongs to the launderer.
Cheers!
