Where do you find inspiration for feeding children? We have some great kid-themed cookbooks and love hearing tips, tricks and recipes word-of-mouth from friends, but we also love turning to the internet for food and cooking information and, most of all, recipes. Here are links to some of our favorite stops on the internet - we'd love to hear yours.
• The Toddler Cafe
• Gastrokid
• Super Healthy Kids
• Lunch In a Box
• Real Food for Healthy Kids
• Picky Palate
• Adventures in Bento Making
• Food with Kid Appeal
• Yum-O
...and, of course we have to give a big nod to Apartment Therapy's own Kitchn. While not specifically focused on children, we always find plenty of recipes there our whole family loves as well as learn techniques that make cooking easier and more enjoyable.

The banana wheat germ muffins and blueberry cream cheese french toast are AWESOME! My toddler loves them.
I just have to say - WOW - totally love this post and the links!!!
My friend Sarah writes a beautiful food blog about feeding her family of four. She calls herself the Leftoverist because a lot of times she's figuring out what to make from the leftover food in the fridge. Beautiful photos, beautiful words:

Hey, thanks for the shout-out about my speed bento blog Lunch in a Box! It's lovely to be included.
I love gastrokid! I got the cookbook as soon as it came out, and it is so amazing! I share the recipes with everyone!
What are some good sites for making baby food?
I'd like to put in a plug for my bff's awesome work over at I Eat Real...she's a farm-starter and nutritional anthropologist who has found a passion writing for and coaching moms who want to create an intuitive eating environment for their families...her article on raising a healthy eater is a great (and hilarious) read. :-)
and my bookmark goes to weelicious.com !
Another Gastrokid fan here.
And I'll add a shoutout to Chowmama.
I'm going to sneak in some self-promotion too... Over the last year or two my food blog http://wordstoeatby.blogspot.com/ has come to focus on feeding a picky toddler/now preschooler. But I'm also addressing that stressful period when there's a new baby in the house, when you can barely see straight and takeout (again) just seems so much easier... I teach a cooking class for new parents called Parents Need to Eat Too, and I'm writing a cookbook of the same name for Harpercollins, to be published next year.
Whoa. That's a whole lotta self-promotion.
I like ChowMama, too. I've posted a few kid-friendly recipes on my blog, too-- my biggest coup was creating pumpkin nuggets that the kids LOVE and that get them a healthy dose of pumpkin, which is apparently a superfood.
Thanks for all these links!

Thanks!

I love Catherine Newman's blog for her weekly dose of food and kids. Her blog is updated on Mondays, which is good to know as she does not have an RSS feed.

My friend Cheryl blogs about at http://crankycakes.com
I am also going to be shameless and plug my own blog, Hippo Flambe. Some of my followers tell me that my blog is a great place to learn how to cook and love all those foods you should be eating. I even have a recipe for kale chips that my children devour.

I'm so glad I stumbled across this post, and I was thrilled to see so many of the food blogs I follow regularly. I'm a dietitian, cookbook author, and mom and I've dedicated my career to helping families eat a healthy and delicious diet; a diet with big-time kid appeal. My blog is Meal Makeover Moms' Kitchen (www.MealMakeoverMoms.com/kitchen) and my weekly radio podcast is called Cooking with the Moms. I hope everyone will come visit me ... and I sure look forward to following a bunch of new blogs!
Delicious, healthy, kid-tested food, often designed for bentos, but she also looks around the world for child-feeding rituals and routines and uses them to inspire her own menu. Check out her books for more inspiration.

A Little Yumminess chronicles 2 moms' experiences pursuing a passion for eating and cooking — and sharing food adventures with our kids. Basically how to have fun with food and your kids.
Coming late to the party, but I wanted to add my blog, which isn't about recipes, but about raising kids to think about the food they eat: where it comes from, how it affects their bodies and why it all matters.
It's called Spoonfed: http://www.spoonfedblog.net.
Hope you'll check it out!
As a teacher and a working mother I understand the difficulties with providing your family with a healthy diet. I have developed the new website http://www.kidshealthyrecipes.com to help other parents wanting to know more about healthy kids food.
Providing healthy and tasty kids food is particularly important with the increase in kids obesity.
The web site has easy to understand information including the food pyramid for kids and a range of kids healthy food recipes that my daughters love. we all know how difficult it is to balance a career and caring for a family so these healthy recipes are easy to follow and quick enough for cooking during the week. Did you know a recent British study found that nine out of ten mothers admitted cooking the same meals repeatedly week after week, and three quarters of the mothers chose their meals based on how quick they were to make rather than based on how healthy the meals were.
All the best to all the other bloggers, Sue
FYI -On my blog, Family Chic, I post creative living ideas for families - I often post recipes for fun and different meals for kids -
