“I read some article today about bottled water, and it said that if we paid as much for tap water as we do for the water we buy at 7-11, that most people would have a monthly water bill of over $9,000. I am not proud to be a human.”
“Do you not remember when I first moved in with you in LA, how you were constantly buying cases of bottled water?”
“But I didn’t know! I grew up in Memphis where the tap water tastes just as good as spring water, so I had never even heard of a water filter.”
“You had never heard of one until I brought it into your life. I changed your water consumption habits.”
“Yes, you did. You made me a better water drinker.”
“That’s why you married me, because I am helping you save the world.”
“For that, and also you have great hair.” -Heather Armstrong, Dooce

ha ha ha dooce, my favorite.
Yes, thank you, Janel! Water & water bottles are freaking me out.
never mind the fact that only a small percentage of the largely non-biodegradable bottles ever make it within spitting distance of a recycling facility, nearly all major brands (coke, pepsi) use TAP water for their products & just add minerals.
you are paying more for a gallon of bottled tap water than for gasoline. Think about it. ehn.
lastly, the FDA has a whole two people assigned to regulate all of your bottled waters.
EPA regulates tap.
Ok enough. Bottled water ain't all that!
The National Conference of Mayors has recently voted St. Louis City tapwater as the best in America. So, if you're in town, fill 'er up!
New York water is the best also. But don consider the old pipes some of this water is going through to get to us. I think home water filters would do the trick. Buy a bottle to carry your water in, fill it up at home, and the rest that you get at work is usually filtered.
Sometimes our own laziness is what creates our problems. I haven't bought bottles water in ages, unless I'm in a very strange place. One can always do vodka I suppose :)
So I really meant "do consider...."
