We recently assisted on a photo shoot that had a yummy catered lunch. The fish was wild, the greens organic, the chocolate dipped strawberries, delicious. But the real treat came when we tossed our paper plate.
The catering company, which turned out to be named, fittingly, Green Catering recycles. (For you Manhattanites, they also the Brown cafe, on the LES.) Next to the trash, Green set up bins for metal, paper, and glass.
We loved that the besides enjoying organic, locally grown food, we could rest easy knowing our paper plate didn't end up in the trash. While we'd prefer they use dishes and wash them, this was still a surprising step in the right direction.
