Call to Action: Vote to Make Your Community Greener

While we wait patiently for climate change legislation to move through the halls of the U.S. Congress, it's easy to think there's nothing we can do. But thinking that is wrong! Chances are you've got city and state elections on November 3, and there may be some ballot measures that affect how green your local community is...

Most recently in our community, city leaders have been improving recycling programs (which is why we now have single-stream recycling for residents). And they're not done: included on the Nov. 3 ballot will be revisions to the recycling program, proposals about solar rebates for homeowners, and an air cleanup plan to get our state on the right track.

So take some time between now and Tuesday to study the propositions on your local ballot—and then go use your vote to help decide how your community improves our environment!
