On Monday, Jonathan asked everyone participating in the Green Cure to post two pictures to our Flickr group: 1) their favorite thing and 2) their greenest thing.
We thought we'd share one of ours here. It's not necessarily the greenest thing in our home; but, today, it's our favorite. It's our bathroom with a brand new coat of zero-VOC American Pride paint. The color (which doesn't show up here as well as we'd like) is "Glimpse of Green."
Yes, it's subtle, but that's what we were going for.
And, the whole process was actually enjoyable. We picked the paint up at Ecohome Improvement here in Berkeley along with a zero-VOC primer. The American Pride Semi-Gloss Paint put us back $35.99 for a gallon and the American Pride primer was another $21.99.
The paint gave off virtually no odor: For that alone we are more than willing to pay a bit more. The reason? We've lived in freshly painted apartments where the smell never really went away during our entire tenancy. Neither did our headaches.
This paint looks great, it dried quickly, and we're pretty darn happy in our new bathroom.
