Ever since Laure's post on
organizing paperwork, we've been devoted notebook junkies; moving all of our messy file folders to nice and neat 3-ring binders. The only issue that continued to plague us was finding a nice looking fabric notebook. Something for under $10 that didn't scream
cheap....so much harder than we expected...
We're not normally fans of the big office supply stores, we find them hard to navigate and
always out of what we need. We'd rather just order online and not deal with the frustration. But we gotta say...after a quick stop off at OfficeMax for a much-needed hole-punch, we spied these simple notebooks and knew we had found a rare pot of gold. At $6 a pop (in store only), we can't complain.
And the striped inside covers are pretty flashy...

i have these! pink and blue for inspirational tear sheets. a little small, but if i have to line my bookshelves with three-ring notebooks, these are the least offensive.
they also sell them at michael's arts and crafts stores, i think
I remember fabric-covered binders from when I was in school during the late 70's & early 80's - They're so much better than the nasty offgassing plinyl ones...
Thanks for the tip!
Holy crap! I do all of my filing at work in 3 ring binders and eschew filing cabinets entirely.
Meanwhile, I've been trying to figure out how to find a decent looking filing cabinet for home. Duh... I don't know why I never thought to file my stuff at home in binders. Sometimes my synapses just don't fire, I guess.
I just bought some canvas binders to hold cds from West Elm because last time I looked I couldn't find any nice plain ones. This post is a day late for me!
great find! I was looking for ones exactly like this but didn't want to pay $25-45 each from some fancy providers...
K T G- I have nothing against blue notebooks, just didn't see anything other than green....any sources you've found for blue fabric notebooks would be greatly appreciated. I could use a few more and they'd look nice with the green ones I have!

why are the nice fabric file boxes so expensive? is it materials that are pricey? ive never got that...see jane work inventory --clear example
Squiggle - regular binders won't work with CD pages (the CD pages are too wide) so you didn't waste money getting the West Elm binders. When I got rid of my jewel cases earlier this year, I did a hunt for cheap fabric covered binders to hold CD pages and ended up with West Elm binders too. Very limited selection out there at any price point!
Cynthia -- Ah! I'm glad to hear it, thanks!
