Name: Leslie Location: Menlo Park Profession: AT:SF Managing Editor Yeah, I know, reusable shopping bags are old news these days. However, I really love my Reisenthel bag. One day I was at Trader Joe's and when I whipped my bag out of my purse and pulled it out of its little case, the customer behind me said, "Wow, just like Mary Poppins!" I love the look of bags like these by Jenny Hurth. I don't love that mine is made from nylon. The khaki color is boring. But the fact that it's so small that it tucks neatly away in my purse and I usually forget about it until the cashier starts to bag my groceries -- or the vendor starts to reach for a bag for my newly purchased cafe au lait bowls at Alameda -- well, that makes it a keeper. People are always asking me where I got it. I bought it at The Gardener ages ago. They don't sell them anymore. However, these from The Container Store look identical, and they're just $4.99.
Green @ Home Starting last week, we've been collecting submissions from you of green moves, tips and solutions with supporting photographs that you've actually implemented at home. While many of these will be small ideas, we think that the total will be more than the sum of its parts and that by collecting a lot of ideas, new ideas will emerge. Don't worry if it's a small green step, just pass on to us your Green Moves and show us what you've done! In addition, we're going to be asking you to share your biggest green frustration and inspiration as well. We think venting is called for and so is remembering what first inspired us.
