Running out of juice is always a problem if you move around a lot. Sure, you can take your charger with you, but what if you can't plug in? Well, there are always other ways of powering up your gadgets. Admittedly, some of the solar panels and power packs are somewhat inefficient, but they would still help you out in a bind. But what if there was a better way?
Lola Mensa is behind this cellphone charger. It's a nicely thought-out design. You just attach the device to your running shoes and go for a quick run to charge it up. Sounds pretty strange, but this is based on the kinetic energy generated by your feet, kind of like all of those kinetic-powered watches out there. Once the power is transferred to batteries, the device is ready to power up some gadgets.
Sounds pretty simple enough. There are a bunch of benefits from using this method. One thing is for sure, it takes a lot less time to charge than the small mobile solar panels that are popping up all over the place. You would have to power them up in the sun for over a day to get a full charge. We've seen a hand crank that was used to power up the XO, so this idea is feasible.
