Last weekend my husband and I were fortunate enough to spend our time sailing off the Santa Barbara coast to celebrate his birthday. What a wonderful time we had. I was surely pleased to power down and employ my dexterity and strength to tack the boat and trim its sails. The experience, because of its sharp contrast to my daily routine, made me stop to think: Powering down is absolutely necessary...I need to do this more often.
We all know this sort of disconnect is good for us, but do we really practice what we preach? I want to know:
