Green Rooms: The Color of Spring (and Envy)

Green Rooms: The Color of Spring (and Envy)

To help usher in Spring (read: beg for an end to this relentless winter), I am going green--as in the color green. Our living room (Image 13, above) was painted green when we moved in 6 years ago. I probably would never have been brave enough to choose the color myself so I am forever grateful to the previous owners. I get compliments on the paint color all the time. My only regret is that I can't claim responsibility! Turns out that some shades of green can serve as exquisite neutrals; bold enough to catch your attention but subtle and versatile enough to serve as a backdrop to a whole spectrum of other color combinations and styles. Green can be warm or whimsical; traditional or contemporary; subtle or dramatic. But whatever it is, it is the color of Spring, a short-lived but pined-for season here in Washington, DC. Here are a selection of fabulously envy-worthy green rooms. How green can you go?
