Personally, the thought of a green sofa is just about the ugliest interior design image I can conjure up, thanks to memories of nubby 70s polyester tweed upholstery. But in our own contemporary period some talented minds have reinvented the green sofa in both surprising and pleasing ways.
When green is used within a strong floral pattern, it brings to mind elegant chintzes from days past without the overwhelming stuffiness. The color also looks remarkably modern when piped in contrasting trims, adorned with unusual throw pillows, and kept to a sleek and minimal silhouette.
Are you convinced by any of these green sofas?

hmm... I never thought of green as an icky colour for a sofa. We have a beautiful navy velvet 'chesterfield' which was our most expensive purchase in our apartment, but both DH and I prefer the 30 year old green one which is so solid, comfortable and interesting!
Green is supposed to be bad on sofas? I never heard of such a thing. Who made that rule? Seems arbitrary and silly.
"the thought of a green sofa is just about the ugliest interior design image I can conjure up"-- really??? Oh, the things that I have seen....
I wouldn't trade my deep green, contemporary leather sofa for anything. It defines my living room!
Does anyone know where the chrome bed is from in the first pic?
bellabeeboo - Not sure if this is the exact same bed but the Portica Canopy bed from Room & Board looks very similar:

I love the floral upholstery fabric of the first couch. Anyone know where I can buy something similar?

Green is the uglist? Seriously? Like e53, I think "oh the things I've seen..."
I love my green couch. booyah.
Thanks Erin...I will take a look.
I love, love, love that upholstery! I can't see doing a sofa in it, but a pair of side chairs would look amazing!
