Interior designer Jessica Helgerson and her husband fixed up this home in Southeast Portland, retaining much of its original charm while adding green features. The house is outfitted with non-toxic paints and finishes, improved insulation, reclaimed doors and hardware, salvaged tile, lighting, and plumbing fixtures, locally sourced stone retaining wall, recycled glass tile bathroom tiles, and vintage or antique furnishings. Gorgeous!

Howard Butcher Bloc...
Beautiful overall, although I don't understand why anyone would want their toilet seat to stand out by choosing a black cover for a white throne. To each his own.
The black and white are high contrast, and the seat balances with the mirror. I think it looks great, especially since so much of the house is white or light.
Dream. Home.
I had not seen recycled glass tile used as a bathroom tile, I'm amazed by how different it looks. I love the shimmer that reflects from the tile, great restoration the house is beautiful.
it's a GREAT looking house. i appreciate all the choices, as it's many of the same things i've done and i like to think the small things add up. i'm also a fan of the vintage appliance, you can argue energy consumption over materials (as my BF does) but i think there is something so beautiful about objects made to last.
oh, and go portland!
I love the bent plywood chairs paired with the antique style table. Very chic. Great job with the re-vamp.
What a beautiful home!
This house is beautiful and that's pretty much my dream bathroom. Does anyone know where I can find similar bathroom floor tile?
