The Brisbane, Australia-based Ecohouse was designed by Riddel Architecture and was built with 95% of the salvaged material from the previously existing 1930s home, and about 80% recycled content. The house also stores 71,000 liters of water and treats gray water on-site. All of the appliances are energy-efficient, as is the lighting, while solar power provides for all the electricity and hot water needs.
