Studio Gorm, an Oregon-based product design team, shows us great design and conscientious cooking can co-exist with this remarkable kitchen idea. In their system, each element works in concert with each other. For example, produce scraps are used as fertilizer for decorative or edible plants, hanging dish racks save on storage space and allow plants to catch any dripping water, and the refrigerator is made from double-sealed terra cotta. What a beautiful, intelligent idea! See another photo below.

This is a pretty cool concept. I definitely like how the water from the dishes on the rack would be used by the plants growing below. However, knowing how there are insects in the pots sometimes, no matter what, if I had this, I would like an option to get the racks placed a little higher to avoid as much contact with the bugs as possible. Just my personal preference there.
I like the idea of a floral motif range, but putting the buttons on the back of the range strikes me as a bad idea.
I'm guessing you're supposed to use both sides like an island, but the reality is that you would probably want to use the side with the sink, cutting board, drawers, and trash when cooking.
Some ability to shield the pretty terra cotta boxes from cooking spray would be nice too. Perhaps just another cutting board stored horizontally between them and the range. :)
