Green Toys Unveils New Products

Toy Fair 2011

Once again, Green Toys is spinning gold from Rapunzel's hair with their recycled milk jug toys. I made sure to stop and get the scoop at the Toy Fair booth earlier this week and see if they had anything new. And, boy, did they…

Instead of just one or two new products, Green Toys had an array of new, smart and fun offerings:

Photo 1: The biggest news was Green Eats - a whole line of kid-sized tableware. Their cooking and tea sets have been such hits but parents kept asking for dishes their kids could actually eat off of. And here they are: trays, plates, bowls, tumblers, forks and spoons.

Photos 2 & 3: The new Green Toys in the garage are a flatbed truck and small racecars, fit for small hands.

Photo 4: I didn't even try hiding my glee when I saw that Green Toys play food was now on the menu: hamburgers and sandwiches. Unlike other plastic play food that stacks up nicely until you try to "bite" it (and then flings all over the place), these food pieces each have a raised middle to help them stay in place once that towering sandwich has been assembled.

Photo 5: I had so much fun chatting with the Green Toys folks that I neglected to photograph a few items including: an infant twist teether, a single pot planting kit (hello - perfect kid birthday present), and stacking cups which can also be used in the bathtub ("Each cup is numbered on the bottom from 1 to 6 and is volumetrically accurate. Fill cups 1 and 2, for example, and it will equal the volume of cup 3.")

Look for these new Green Toys in the next few months!
