Some of the green design ideas incorporated into the community:
Solar panels, green roofs with rainwater collection. Building materials like reclaimed wood, low-VOC paints, and natural masonry and metals. Some residences will have private green terraces. High windows and ceilings make best use of natural light and residences are oriented to take advantage of solar heat during the winter.

The downtown Chapel Hill location is strategic, the designers' intent being that residents depend less on car ownership. The building will have its own fleet of environmentally friendly Zipcars for the times residents do choose to drive instead of walk.
Ranging in size from 700 to 1,000 sf, apartments will be priced from $350,000 to $1 million. How do you think this compares to NYC living? Would you be interested in a green development like this coming to town?
