We read The New York Times' story of two male models buying a Greenpoint rowhouse with some suspicion. While we can hope that all of our readers could have the opportunity to make a living modeling for Hermes — this isn't going to happen. We did love the few pictures of the interior. The bold color choices are a great backdrop to the second-hand furnishings. One of the owners, Robin Scott said it best: “The rationale with this place is you can’t really fight what you’ve got here, you just kind of roll with it.”. We think this sums up the majority of living situations in New York City...

I also read this with suspicion, but they sound like they have good heads on their handsome shoulders. Interesting they decided to skip the Hermes orange...
Why be any more suspicious pf these two than of the others in similar features? At least they earned their own money and not be the most dubious or harmful means either. It's a lovely place.
What are you suspicious of?
I don't understand the suspicion. Is this just a generalised 'beautiful people are dumb, these guys don't appear dumb, therefore something suspicious is afoot?"
I do not understand the "suspicious" comment either. I thought it was a really lovely article and the last paragraph made me giggle!
Astroturf and acid wash jeans. Nice.
Last month in the NYT it was the porn star flipper, this month the gentlemen models gentrifiers. Do they ever choose stories based on creative design?
nice, as in fun, KKO ? :-)
this is off topic, but Mr. Dangerous, and anyone thinking of traveling to NY, in fall '06 i enjoyed a stay in Greenpoint-- seeing the neighborhood's handsome Polish Guys! as well as the subway home @ 4am, stopping by the bakery in the pouring rain-- stayed @ the Y there: private room, $30 a nite, free breakfast (tip huge!) at diner nearby, pool access (bring a swim cap, required/none sold nearby).
mint green private rooms, others white w/ hot pink sheers.
What a snarky bunch on this thread....Bitter much?
Thanks for the vacation tip!
I haven't been to NY in two years and I always like staying at the Y.
it's a cute place, but their claim that most of the furnishings were carted home on their bikes is indeed suspect. it paints a nice image, but yeah, suspicious
