We first spied Greenspace a few weekends ago, during a day trip to Santa Cruz. Our first reaction was, "It's about time a place like this opened down here!" And then we proceeded to be impressed with the variety of products.

The five-month-old store makes it easy to transform any corner of the home into an eco-friendly zone. There are paints and stains; various flooring (including cork and recycled rubber); organic linens; furniture made of sustainable materials; countertops; bamboo cabinetry; natural cleaning supplies; and even recycled or reclaimed original artwork.

And, with the weather warming up, the patio and gardening goods caught our eye. While we already have a push lawnmower, we could definitely use some non-toxic weed killer.

Greenspace proves that going green doesn't mean giving up aesthetics or high quality. In addition to offering 4,000 square feet of goods, the store's staff includes an LEED accredited professional and a green interior designer.
