Tsao & McKown Architects won a National Design Award today for interior design. The New York based firm has a hefty portfolio and I was impressed with this Greenwich Village townhome renovation...
Would you have ever guessed that this design was done in 1986?!? There are a few giveaway details when you know what to look for — color scheme, lighting fixture in entryway, coffee table sculpture — but overall this design has held up very well!

This Townhouse renovation seems a bit cool and uninviting to me.

I'm relieved to see it's from '86 because it was screaming early 80s design to me - really not timeless at all. Though, the kitchen and dining room could hold up.
