Of course, gold often creates a sense of traditional luxury and glamor. But it is also effectively used in modern, neutral interiors as a way of providing a different texture without veering too far from the color palette.
Which neutral and gold combo is your favorite? Do you have a place in your home for gilt-y pleasure?

Pantone may be calling it a pink year, but to me the hot colors are neutrals, grays and creams and greiges of all varieties. Worried about being too subtle? See how a lot of designers are keeping things from getting dreary with a punch of gold.

the second pic stands out for me. follow the link for Desire to Inspire (2), and check out the red bed.
I love sunburst mirrors. This one is just all-out bold and beautiful!
And my poor husband has been hearing nothing but of my desire to find the perfect greige for our apartment walls. I'm bookmarking this post for future reference. :)
I like the fourth photo. Light and airy, with a touch of glam.
The link for the first pic takes you to the house in the 4th pic...
Love this, two years ago my boyfriend ad I moved into our first home together, armed with an interior design degree and a lot of feminine decor I set out to create a space that was gender neutral but didn't lack in style. I've combined our gray sofa with a chocolate brown rug, walnut coffee table, bronze lamps, black trim and gray walls with yellow and gold accents. It's cozy and inviting! Great article!!
In the immortal words of Kay Thompson, " Are you kidding? I wouldn't be caught dead in pink!"
Thanks @mntwmyn, I fixed the link.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Seriously sophisticated. Love!
I love this color. Used it in my LR. I always think of silver with taupe, gray, and greige. This has turned me around - love pics #1 & 3.
I have honeysuckle colored walls throughout my apartment. I'll be 'in' for a year. YEAH!
I've personally been mixing my gold and silver jewelry recently. Love it!
I love the first picture! Honestly, they're all quite lovely and elegant.
Can everyone please stop making up really stupid words for blended colors? Kthnx.
Actually I think 'greige' is a very clever word evolution. It certainly beat idiocy like 'chillax'. And I love love love using neutrals for the envelope of a space and for the largest furniture like beds and sofas. From there I love a good pop of color....but not bubblegum pink. They can call it 'heliotrope' all they want but it looks like bibblegum to me! (And heliotrope is generally white or creamy yellow..there are very few varieties that are actually pink! So WHAT was Pantone thinking anyhow?)
When renovating our master bathroom, I wanted to design something unique but something that would "age" well. I think grey is such a timeless color and though I haven't completed the "Jewelry" on the bathroom I am glad I used it instead of sticking with just a white on white theme. I love all of the photos above.

Ooops! I meant Honeysuckle not Heliotrope!
I love these photos.
Greige isn't a new blended word to describe a colour - its a word long been used in the fashion industry to refer to fabric that hasn't been dyed yet.
Thanks for including us!
