"Guess the Decade" is back with a fairly formal, very feminine sitting room, with a roaring fire to welcome us. There are plenty of design details in the room for you to use your decade-deciding skills on - take a long look and then jump below to make a guess:
Comments and conjecture are welcome in the comments, as always, but if you know the source of the photo - PLEASE don't tell. We promise to reveal it tomorrow, so please check back then for the answer.
Good Luck!
MORE GUESS THE DECADE:

Stanley Console by ...
The klismos chairs and the retro coffe table say "now", but the subdued colours, the "good taste" fell of the room make me search for something from about ten years ago.
oops read "feel" not "fell"
10 years ago would still be "now" since apparently we aren't distinguishing between the 00's and the 10's
80's. That velvet ottoman ...
The fireplace surround, Apple Green library and early-60's inspired sofa scream "Now".
It looks to me like it could be any time from the 1940's to now, so I guess that makes it "classic design" in my book!
Stools say now, but the green says 70s. A very tasteful 70s? That's what I'll go with.
the peachy colored drum looking stools tell me it would be 40s, possibly 50s.
the klismos chairs have been brought out through various decades, so I don't think that's a good judge of decade.
the art is very tasteful though...so really, it seems that the whole room is an amalgam of various decades.
interested to see the result!
Green bookcase..that's the biggest hint for me. either 70s or 80s...can't wait until i see the result.
The floral arrangement on the coffee table is very 2000s also...
this is very now -- this room could be in an issue of elle decor this year
now... this looks so much like my MIL's living room.
Hmm, this one is tricky. On the one hand, this furniture looks like it could be 1950s, particularly those pink floral drums. On the other hand, the green marble fireplace surround and the green color in the adjoining library space seem very 70s or 80s. I also think that the neutral area rug is a hint that it is at least in the latter half of the century.
Kellylj, is right, though, those floral arrangements and the pots that they are in do seem more modern.
Also, perhaps the biggest hint to me is the quality of the photograph, it seems like it would have to be from the last twenty years.
Don't recall seeing garden benches/seats indoors until the last few years (and I'm old). I say it's current.
The art, the bolder than the 50's-70's green in the library and the particular style of the brass coffee table say now to me.
The variety of influences, ceramic garden stools, and floral arrangement all seem now to me.
it's all very now
I'd kill for those chairs.
(Symmetrically arranged furniture + pale rug + Regency-style furniture + brass coffee table) x overwrought "good taste" = '80s
The garden stools are a trend from about 10 years ago. It's either late 90s or early aughts.
I agree with bepsf. The shade of green is "now" especially when paired with white walls and a light neutral carpet.
Mmmmm... I think 90's
Looks just like my (always stylish) grandma's condo in 1970.
Yup, I'm staying with my first impression, circa 1997-2002
peach & green & velvet ottomans... totally 80s
I guess (late) 1990s. But wouldn't be a bit surprised to see early 00s. I don't really get how people guess <80s when the picture quality looks like this...
For absolutely no rational reasons whatsoever this feels absolutely "Now" to me. I really am glad other commenters try to explain why it's "Now" to them too - this is 100% "gut" instinct!
On a related note: IS there a difference between '00s and '10s? can someone link pictures as example?
The floral arrangements look late 90s ... or possibly today.
I'd say late 1940's, possibly early 50's. It's classically tasteful with an eclectic mix of styles, it's the artwork that places the time for me. Really it's timeless.
