Usually we keep all things baby-related over on our sister site, Ohdeedoh, but this nursery/guestroom from blogger Heather Armstrong (aka Dooce) is too sophisticated for us not to share a peek.
We love how the Hygge & West wallpaper looks with the antique brass bed, and the contrasting dark pillows keep things from veering at all towards the saccharine. The room feels peaceful enough for a baby, but grown-up enough for anyone to enjoy it.
For a look at the nursery area, check out this post on Ohdeedoh, and be sure to read how it all came together (including more images and information on sources) at Dooce.

I love her. She definitely went all out in comparison to her first child, Leta. Not-Maria's nursery is neutral but beautiful!

i love her blog. you can really see how her style has evolved. looks amazing heather
so pretty... things like this make me long for a girl. i have 4 boys.
Heather does a great job of creating a warm yet modern style on a fairly reasonable budget. Some of her shopping features like the modern clocks for $100 or less are great resources, and her blog is very fresh-looking and easy to read.
I love her too I just cannot image anyone not liking this.
L-O-V-E that wallpaper! (I can see it in more places than a nursery/guestroom, too.)
I love these multi purpose rooms, but does it work? When my kids were babies, I didn't even want visitors NEAR the doors....so as to NOT wake up the baby. Much less sleeping in the same room. Maybe my kids didn't sleep as sound as other people's do.
