Sometimes we get a card in the mail that is beautiful (most times we don't). We just recieved one from friends on the West Coast and had to blog it.

Pomegranate is a little company that grew up in San Francisco during the 60's printing rock posters and psychedelic prints for fans and auditoriums alike. Thirty years later, they have matured (or mellowed) into a large printing house of cards, posters, calendars and books.

Gustave Baumann (1881-1971) is just one of many artists they print. A German immigrant to this country when he was ten years old, Baumann became a pioneer in modern woodblock printing. He lived and worked in Indiana, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and ended up living in Santa Fe for the last years of his life.
