Gypsy Honeymoon was an appropriate choice for the name of this store because it is flat-out bizarre (and we mean that in the best way possible). Carrying mostly unique antiques from Europe, Gypsy Honeymoon peddles goods with a twist. For instance, when we asked what some of their best selling items were, the shopkeeper informed us that the antique (1930's) glass eyes from Germany just fly off the shelves. As do wax hands and feet. We were more interested in their French turn-of-the-century buffets, but there is something for everyone's odd side at Gypsy Honeymoon.

Personally, we can't get enough of vintage anatomy posters. Gypsy Honeymoon also has a bizarre selection of chandeliers that hang from every inch of the ceiling.

Along with antiques from Europe, the store also carries items with a bit of Asian flair. Make sure you open all the drawers, too. They keep extra inventory in there (like ribbons, hankies, and bonnets) as well.

We've always thought that a kitchen can't have too many unique looking storage containers, so you better believe we stocked up on these great looking distressed (naturally!) containers.

The shop's inventory is constantly changing, but they always have a wide variety of textiles (napkins, tablecloths, throws), taxidermy, and bone china.

So good to see a more diverse selction of styles being shown at AT recently.
Love the asthetic of this place.
Wow, I live way too close to not have seen this store before! I am definitely checking it out soon.
We're fortunate to have a few stores similar to this in our neighbourhood. In the best ones, the proprietor is good at sourcing new items regularly, and combines this with decent pricing to keep the inventory turnover fresh.
Awwww, this place was right down the street from my old apartment! I loved popping in to see what was new.
I will look on your treasures, Gypsy. Is this understood?
beautiful, unique, and spendy
I HATE it when AT posts stores like this, and I see at least 5 things I need right away, and I'll never be able to go there! Well, more truthfully, I love it. It's just as well that I live on the other coast. . . .
mmm...that jade/green vase is lovely!

oooh--- i would be kharma careful about "antique glass eyes from germany"
think about that one for a second.
they don't sell big bowls of gold teeth as well do they?
its places like these that bridge the gap between design and home, while also inspiring curiousity. hand picked artifacts from a past world... i wish i could visit today!
I used to live up the street from this place and would pass it every morning on my way to BART. It has a real "Needful Things" feel to it (I'm referring to the movie adapted from the Stephen King novel.) Each time I passed there was a new thing in the window I desired. Now, it seems silly, but because of that the store kind of scared me.
Finally one day I went inside and was happy that there weren't any Leland Gaunt type of people working in the store. I looked around to make sure there wasn't a caveat emptor sign and when I didn't find one I was comfortable enough to buy a few things including an antique marionette, a vintage artist's palette with the most beautiful colors on it and some vintage movable letters from a printing press. Really this store has something for everyone.
