The San Francisco architecture that we are used to is very different from the design of the H House by Group 41. The front of this modern home is in perfect balance with its Victorian and Edwardian neighbors. The scale and clean lines allow it to blend with historic buildings of Noe Valley. Joel Karr is the architect and developer behind the H House and the principal of Group 41. More photos after the jump...

The four level home by Group 41 Inc. is set on a narrow hillside property. It is 4,500 square feet and it features 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms with beautiful views of the city and Oakland Hills. We love the architectural elements of the house. One of our favorites is the black stacked slate wall that you can see in detail in the outdoor staircase photograph. It adds texture to otherwise boxy and simple design. The steel entry gate was designed by a local artist - Brian Ford of Metropolis Design. Sustainable materials and practices were utilized in the construction of the H House. We first read about the house on Arch Daily. Visit the website to learn more about it and see more pictures.
