We love seeing small desk spaces appropriated into full-on workstations. With dual monitors and a side laptop workstation complete with vinyl toys and gadget accessories, Hajime’s desk has all the essentials of a fully functioning workspace, from JBL Creature speakers to an army of Kubrick bears.
Hajime is a designer in Los Angeles, CA and his current desk is constantly subject to change based on the project he’s working on - whether composing music or editing video or doing illustration work. Like any desk, there are elements that can be moved and essentials that must stay put. Hajime has worked out a system that gives flexibility and organization to the essential tools on his desk.
Maximizing space: This tiny but effective incase iPhone stand holds the phone upright without taking up any space and is easy to move. Pens, erasers, and other desk supplies are kept neat in a Muji clear plastic pen shelf leaving enough room on the desk for a Lisa vinyl toy from Gaspard and Lisa.

Dual monitors: For most designers, two monitors are needed in order to work most efficiently. Hajime’s collection of Kubrick bears face off with Groovisions Chappys – a nice touch to mismatched monitors.
JBL Creature Speakers: These speakers + subwoofer offer excellent sound quality without invading too much space. The subwoofer is hidden behind the two monitors while the two small speaker systems peek out on each side.
Hard Drive Guard: These hard drives have to stay put in this desk situation, so Godzilla stands guard to make sure they aren’t moved.
