And the hits just keep on comin'! You guys continue to wow us with your DIY projects, most recently play kitchens. Kim knocked our socks off with this budget-friendly kitchen she and her husband made for her daughter's first birthday.
We are both complete amateurs and this was our first time working with power tools, but with the basic squares and rectangles we cut, anyone can be a wood working pro! Plus, Lowe's can do a lot of the hard work for you!
We love the sweet Heather Bailey Freshcut fabric Kim chose for the kitchen accessories which add a hint of nostalgia for grandma's kitchen.

Oh my, the whole thing is seriously so cute, and Haley is a doll. The kitchen is in the perfect little nook in their home too. I wish that either I (or my hubby) was the least bit handy.
Zmama- thanks for the compliment! We stuck it in our kitchen so she could cook along beside us. I`m serious, if you can just measure out the size boards you want, Lowe's will do all the cutting for you and all you have to do is nail things together. As for the shelf, go to grannys, antique stores, etc and look for little collectable displays. I`m not a handy woman in the slightest, and managed to do this. The only real tough part was using the drill for the kitchen sink! Eeep! Anyway, just thought i`d provide a little motivation :) It`s always nice and rewarding when you can do something yourself for your little ones...
I'm so excited to see this - it is absolutely adorable and I love how easy you made it look! Definitely on my list (once we have a little girl that is). So cute!

What a lovely kitchen set!! My husband and I are also planning on making our daughter a set for Christmas. Would you mind sharing the height of the counter and the overall height? I'm thinking 36 - 38 inches in plenty, but the counter height is stumping me a little.

Thank you so much dear! The height of the counter is 22 inches, and the overall height is is 40 inches. She is 15 months right now, and she still isn't able to reach her potholders and all the little things on her cupboard.
As for the sink, it's just a mixing bowl from wal-mart. I`m sure you probably just have one laying around somewhere. A metal dog bowl will also do the trick. Also, another tip: If you can can get something in stainless steel, it is worth the extra bit of money.

Question: did you make the fabric cookie dough? I think that is the most adorable thing I have ever seen.
Kpag- thanks! the cookie dough and such was from a swap I did with a friend. Go to any craft store, pick up various colors of felt, and have yourself a ball. Since that swap, I've made a whole picnic basket kit for Haley- sandwich bread, tomatos, meat, cheese! It is quite simple, it just takes some patience, haha. You can go on etsy and type in "felt food" and be completely inspired. Nanacompany.etsy.com has a lot of wonderful felt items you can purchase as well :)

This is so adorable! My husband and I are not handy either, but I think we could totally do this! Would you be willing to elaborate more on the specifics of the project (measurements of the pieces, materials and steps) and also, roughly how much it cost you to make? I can't tell what the knobs are made out of - do they turn or are they stuck in place? Did you buy the faucet? Oh, one more thing - where did you get the utensils hanging above the sink? They look like the perfect size for little hands! I'm sorry for all the questions, you've just really inspired my husband and I and we want to make some just as cute for our daughter! Thanks for you help!

I`m not really sure what color paint it is. It is the cheap acrylic paint you find for 77c a bottle at the craft store. Just go & scope out the greens & i`m sure you`ll find the right match. It only took 2 bitty bottles for the entire shelving project :)
Is it possible to get each of the measurements from you. My son would lovvvvvve this but I havent the slightest clue about building and to tell the truth neither does my husband. We can copy and give directions to a lowes guy though :) It would be much appreciated
