Hallways may not have the same prestige as the living room, but they're the arteries of a space and they have a huge affect on a home's health. Designer Steven Gambrel seems to understand this, since his hallways tend to have as much style and personality as any other room in his portfolio.
We've long felt that hallways are one of the least appreciated parts of the home, so we're happy to see Gambrel paying careful attention to corridors, landings, stairways, and entrances. Each space has its own unique palette of paint colors, artwork, lighting, and textiles.
Gambrel is a New York designer who we've profiled on Apartment Therapy before. He's also a trained architect, which may explain his emphasis on the connective spaces of his projects.
