Remember Jonathan's April Fool's post (the FLOR carpet tiles that magically eat CO2)?
Well, this vacuum cleaner seemed almost as far fetched to us at first.
It "uses ultraviolet technology to instantly trap and decimate 99.9% of dangerous microscopic irritants." You can check out a hands-on review over at ATLA.
This is the Halo UV-ST Vacuum -- and they're calling it a "nontoxic arsenal to evict germs!"
The premise is that instead of using toxic cleaners you can get rid of dust mites, flea eggs, etc by zapping them with the vacuum's UV rays.
They appear to sell for around $499. Scratch that -- they're on sale right now at Amazon for $398.99. Amazon also has a small selection of mixed reviews on the product and a cool/gross animated video demonstration of how it supposedly works. What do you think?
