Sunday morning, just as the sun started to come out, I was exploring one of the most beautiful backyards I've ever seen. It is the private garden of the Hamilton House (located in Columbus, Indiana), designed by Dan Kiley, noted landscape architect. I put together a twenty shot garden tour - inspiration abounds…

I was able to visit the garden as part of a architectural tour in Columbus, which is best known for the large number of significant modernist buildings. While the built environment is important to the town, their commitment to design carries over to the landscape. From private gardens and yards to public spaces, we saw many examples of well planned, beautifully cared for plantings, which didn't come as a complete surprise - Columbus has won the America in Bloom competition.
