"How much do we miss out on because we don't take the time to learn or to listen or to look? But beauty is always there lying dormant, waiting to be discovered." Such are the words of Australian artist Lisa Rodden, who strives to embody the beauty of the world around us in her intricate, hand cut paper art.
Rodden painstakingly carves and cuts her designs into thick white paper, then manipulates the work by bending and curling pieces of paper to reveal slivers of color paintings underneath. Plays on shadow and light give these three-dimensional sculptures extra depth.
Rodden said her art is "a communication of how all things are interrelated, with organic forms, textures, color and flow" being her signature.

Love that!
Love the Koi!
Those are all amazing. I'm a sucker for the paper arts any day, but this is truly special!
Really gorgeous!
What a clean and perfect she works!!!!!
I want to learn how to do this
What a wonderful craft and a lovely effect it creates.
Its made me wonder if this could be done on a larger scale with a sturdier material (plastic or metal) to cover a whole wall. It would certainly add a lot of interest to a room rather than just flat paint...
Fabulous
