While I definitely saw my fair share of screenprinted T-shirts, concert posters and jewelry at this weekend's Renegade Craft Fair, I also came across a lot of wonderful housewares. From smartphone docks to prehistoric planters, these are my favorite handcrafted items for the home. • The Sky Scratcher — Let your kitty live out dreams of terrorizing downtown Chicago with this skyscraper themed scratcher. • Stak Ceramics — The Smartphone Dock Vase is a collaboration between Myles Geyman of TechnoMud and Heather Connolly of H Ceramics. • The Plaid Pigeon — Prehistoric Planters filled with succulents that had traveled from Austin, Texas. • 900 Blok — Adding to their collection of state themed tables, 900 Blok is introducing these electronic-friendly tables. • Drawstring Studio — Along with ready made curtains, this Wisconsin-based design studio will also create custom window coverings. • Garth Borovicka — Keep your books standing in place with these Bookends of the Earth. • Yoder's Wooded Lot — Beautifully simple pedestal tables from an Indianapolis based husband/wife team. • Piebox — A reusable raw pine box handcrafted in Chicago. Use as a pie safe or bread box. • Hip Huts — These colorful tents for children were a big hit with the youngest shoppers. • Nell & Mary — Colorful printed pillows with architectural patterns from Portland, Oregon. • Trophy Club — A Chicago-centric take on the bike storage shelf. • Glass Wares Chicago — This Chicago based design studio creates original glassware from salvaged bottles.
