I did a brooch bouquet for my wedding. It was easy to put together, but finding all the brooches (and big rings and earrings!) in the colour range I wanted was difficult, but I somehow managed. It was a bit trendy, but no one invited had seen one before so the oohs and aahs was great :)
oh wow!
thank you for featuring my posie wreath. what a beautiful post dedicated to such gorgeous handmade treasures.
thanks again!

I'm curious about this almost universal distaste for artificial flowers. I realize there are some ugly ones out there, but higher quality "silks" are getting to be so realistic looking you sometimes have to touch them or get within inches before you can see the texture to believe they aren't real. And real living flowers are not feasible on my budget.
I make arrangements and wreaths from silk flowers and I enjoy them greatly -- and the opinions of other people don't effect that. But I'd like to know why they are anathema to some... Is there specific logic or is it learned snobbery or what???
sherry, i think we have PTSD from the terrible musty-smelling fake flowers that crowded our grandmothers' houses in the 80s. i'm fighting my distaste because you're right, some of what's out there right now is totally gorgeous.
I think the handmade fabric flower/bouquet options out there are incredible!! Currently lusting after those made by Le Belle Fleur on Etsy:
