For years I've been looking for the right stockings to hang in my home during the holidays. I'm a handmade kind of girl, but I don't really want them to look crafty. So this mix of modern felt stockings with Helvetica cut outs might be just the thing!
Jackie over at Teal and Lime has been busy making new stockings for her home. She uses a reverse applique technique that basically means cutting out the shape from your top fabric instead of stitching something on.
It's a snap to do with fusible webbing and it allows your iron to do all the heavy lifting instead of a small needle and thread. Check out the full tutorial to make your own over at Teal and Lime.

I really don't want to like these as much as I do.
Love the ones that have contrast with the background and the font! Love helvetica too!
Love ... but I'm sitting here watching the Helvetica documentary, so maybe I'm biased :)
I love these! So much nicer than what I found on Etsy. Those ones were way to "crafty."
Meh. I like my Christmas decor to, you know, feel like Christmas. For me, there's just nothing warm or festive about a gray and blue stocking.
Can anyone tell me where the blue/yellow/white vases are from? Thanks!
Thank you all for the nice comments. I know these colors are not for everybody, but felt comes in every color to make your own however you like.
Shawnandnan, the vases were a housewarming gift. I am sorry I do not know where they are from and they have no markings. I have seen similar at HomeGoods.
these would be really cute in red & white ! :)
