While it's true that Mother's Day has passed, these paper handprint gifts Jackie and her son's made for their grandmother are a simple and sweet idea anytime of the year (Father's Day perhaps?).
There are days when I hold my son's hand and stare at it in awe: it's so small, yet he's learning to do so many things from drawing with crayons to holding his own ice cream cone. So freezing his hand in time, in a sense, is a really sweet way to commemorate these moments of reflection.
The instructions are rather simple so even parents who consider themselves "non-crafty" will have no problem with this project. Jackie gives a quick run-down of how to make these handprint gifts on her blog Avocado & Papaya.
Thanks Jackie!

I LOVE this idea! I am making one with my 3 year old this weekend! Ideas like this are why I can't go one day without checking this website. :)
Beautiful - and gender neutral!
Such a sweet idea Jackie!
I love it! Did anyone figure out what font was used? I can't find it listed on her blog...
