Embroidered Hand Prints from Plum Pudding

There's no easier DIY than making a handprint. So that got us wondering: what do you think of handprints as decor in a child's room?

We've all seen the traditional ceramic handprint kits, but there are plenty of more unusual techniques for all DIY abilities. Using handprints can be highly personal; have everyone in the family use a hand to paint a border around a wall, or use only your child's hands in his or her room (see photo 2, above). Another easy idea is to use handprints to decorate the mat around a photo or to create canvases to hang on the wall (see photos 4 and 5).

If you want to up your DIY ante, then try something a little more elaborate, like embroidered handprints or a handprint pillow (photos 1 and 3, above).

So, what's the verdict? Are handprints as decor a go? Or no?
