Hand-Woven and Printed Fabrics by Broken Twill Textiles

The organic and colorful printed and woven pillows, upholstery and artwork created by Broken Twill Textiles are the work of two Providence, Rhode Island-based textile designers who were tired of working for a company that produced their designs overseas and longed to return to their roots in hand-made fabrics.

They formed Broken Twill to do just that. The pair hand-weaves and prints a variety of fabrics in bright modern colors while also creating pieces that feel rooted in textile traditions. Kate is a weaver and Wendy is a surface designer and painter — and both draw upon their expertise to create a collection that is cohesive, playful and pretty darn gorgeous. If you are in Providence, check out their designs in person at the annual Craftland Show or visit their Etsy Shop, which happens to be offering 20% off all merchandise through today.
