Q: I need to hang a swing indoors for my child with special needs, but the ceiling in our condo has metal studs. I purchased one of the Ikea swings and now I don't know what to do. Please help.

we have the same swing. You do have to buy the ceiling hooks separately in Ikea, and use the appropriate screw for your ceiling material. Alternatively, you can install a metal bar in the doorway, and hang the swing on the rod.
Here's the link to the fittings mentioned above. you should install them in self-tapping screws made for metal found at a local hardware store.

Another option is to make or buy a frame to hang the swing from. These are very popular with the "hammock chairs" that you see everywhere these days.
I work with special needs kids, and we use a tension type rod between the door frame. http://www.onestepahead.com/pwr/product-reviews/4815/Product-Groups/Special-Collections/Finder-s-Keepers/Playaway-Toy-Company-Inc/p/06637-Rainy-Day-Combo-Kit.html
