Q:Have you seen anyone do a hanging bubble chair or any other hanging chair in the nursery instead of a rocker or glider? I was almost thinking about trying to hang a papasan. I only found one photo online of something like this and it was a porch swing, but it looked hokey.

My son has been begging for a hammock chair for his room, since we receive this catalog.

I think he's still a little young (four) but maybe next year?
How about a fabric hammock swing?

We have a cool outdoor restaurant close by our house that has lots of these and fire pits and sand on the ground. paradise!
Ikea makes a couple of options, but they're in the child section. I'd check them out in person to see if they're appropriate for you.
The problem is that you ruin your ceiling installing it
I have a birdcage swing I bought on craig's list for $20 that we have hanging in our living room/foyer that my kids love to swing on. I swing with my 16 month old and she loves it, very soothing.

I wouldn't put a hanging chair in a nursery. When you have your arms full with a baby and often a bottle too, it would be too hard to hop into the chair without a hand to steady yourself and stop the chair from moving.
It would be lovely to rock in, but getting in and out would wake a baby that you've just spent a while trying to get to sleep :)
In an older childs room though it would be nice.
Very comfortable for swinging but bad for nursing and bad for putting baby to sleep. I also wouldn't want to sleep with a baby in there because there are all sorts of weird nooks and pokey bits.
We tried out several similar ones a few years ago when vacationing at the Parker Palm Springs.
Don't put it in a nursery. It'll be too hard to get in and out of and you will end up taking it down for safety reasons later.
We put a hanging chair in our nursery. My husband secured it to the roof rafters. we love it. http://thehalsells.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
