This is my total dream, one that I will realize once my apartment is all set up. We have the spot by the bay window in the bedroom all picked out, just a matter of finding a good sturdy stud in the wall! I think hammocks are the most relaxing and comfortable inventions, and can't wait to read a book while swaying in the sunshine of my bedroom!

Yep :) I love it! If you use hooks and caribiners, you can take it down whenever.

A friend and her roommate did this in college. Their beds were lofted over their desks, and if no one was studying, the hammocks were slung in front of them. I think it was most frequently used as guest seating and was actually a very functional way to add seating to a tiny living space.

My brother did this once, about 30 years ago. I loved it.

I have two hammocks, one in our shade house and one under a high deck outside a basement patio door. Very comfy, and I've been thinking of bringing one inside for the winter.

They need a good bit of room, although they are easy to move out of the way if you include a carabiner on the ends for easy clipping and unclipping.

The spread on my single hammock is ~11' and the matrimonial one takes up ~14' between the hooks.

There is a bit of an art to getting the arc just right, and you'll need to make sure your hanging arrangement is extra sturdy. A screw eye into a stud may not be enough.

My uncle did that years and years ago. He lived in a beautiful apartment, but on the basement level. My dad, on the heavy side, tested the installment, and landed on the concrete and ceramic tile flooring... Weeks of back ache ensued... I still really want to try this but would be extra careful!

We have one hanging in the corner of one of our guest rooms. Everyone who stays with us says that it is so much fun and better than a reading chair!

It´s nice to swing on the hammock. We also use it for the cushions. Actually, my baby loves it!

Yes, as a latina I have had hammock indoors - would recommend them to anyone with back problems.
Also babies do love them, they feel like a super comfortable swing.

Life is good with a hammock when not in use you can unhook and rehook as needed.

More hotels should do this! Hanging a hammock indoors is easy if you're willing to drill into the wall. You just need 10-14 ft of space and once you find the studs a pair of eye screws and some S hooks or carabiners ( to easily take down hammock without redoing a knot every time) will do the trick.

Even if you don't actually lay in the hammock, simply draping one over a window or on a wall can make a great decorative piece for any room.
